According to a news report from 123jump.com, “the leading operator of fast-food restaurants, which includes Pizza Hut, reported sales of $2.22 billion, up 7% from $2.09 billion in the prior year. The company was amidst a controversy in the quarter, due to an E.Coli outbreak in few Taco Bell restaurants and rat infestation at a Taco Bell franchise in New York City. While the operating profit of the firm’s international operation, excluding China, grew by 25%, the US operating profit fell by 11% due to weak sales at Taco Bell.”
