According to a news report from www.bradenton.com, “Selling pizzas to Manatee schools is a $225,000 business.”

“That’s what pizza makers together will earn during the coming school year, according to the Manatee County School District budget,” said the story. “And the schools themselves will almost double that profit by making an estimated $427,500 on the reselling of pizza slices to students for lunch. Three companies have a slice with school set to start Monday. The contracts call for the pizza makers to deliver fresh goods to middle and high schools, according to district records and administrators. The pies will be delivered to schools as an a-la-carte item, usually once a week.”
