In a new collaboration with six-time MMA heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic, Romeo’s Pizza is paying tribute to the nation’s firefighters with a limited-time pizza called, naturally enough, the Firefighter Pizza.
In addition to his MMA career, Miocic is a full-time firefighter and EMT. He’s also the co-owner of a Romeo’s Pizza store in Parma, Ohio, and has been helping build brand recognition for the pizza chain nationwide.
The launch of the Firefighter Pizza comes as Miocic gets ready for his highly anticipated heavyweight title fight against Jon Jones on November 11. The pizza itself will be available through November 18.
Crafted to ignite taste buds while supporting an important cause, the Firefighter Pizza combines the bold flavors of pepperoni and spicy Carolina Reaper Cheese. The latter adds an extra layer of intensity, “perfectly symbolizing the intense challenges faced by firefighters as they battle the flames,” Romeo’s Pizza said in a press release.
In fact, Romeo’s will donate $1 from each Firefighter Pizza sold to local fire departments in the markets that the chain serves. “This charitable contribution is our way of expressing gratitude and providing support to those who risk their lives daily to protect our communities,” the press release stated. “By enjoying the Firefighter Pizza, customers not only savor a sensational culinary experience but also contribute to a worthy cause, igniting positive change within our communities.”
Additionally, donations collected in-store for each location will be matched by Romeo’s Sweet Smiles Foundation, effectively doubling the support for local firefighters. Established in 2021, the Sweet Smiles Foundation’s mission is to serve the underserved, deliver hope to those in need and lead by making a measurable difference.
“We couldn’t be more excited to support such a great cause in our local communities with a great-tasting pizza that our customers will love,” said Ryan Rose, CEO of Romeo’s Pizza. “We are proud to partner with Stipe in this campaign, as he truly embodies what it is to be a champion.”
