CHESTERFIELD, MO. (June 22, 2010) – Colin Simmonds has been appointed Regional President of AB Mauri Fleischmann’s, the North American region of AB Mauri. In addition to leading the yeast and bakery ingredients business, Simmonds will continue to manage the global Baking Technology Group of AB Mauri. He has managed the Baking Technology Group, the global innovation and development engine of AB Mauri, for the past 6 years and has been instrumental in cultivating expertise, knowledge and teamwork into the culture at AB Mauri.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to lead the AB Mauri Fleischmann’s business in North America where the future potential for baked products is enormous” Simmonds said on his appointment. “Fulfilling that potential is achieved through providing our customers with outstanding service and leading edge technology.” On maintaining his responsibilities for the global Baking Technology Group, he further commented, “The driving principle for us is the recognition that it is more crucial than ever, in today’s economic environment, to bring the latest technologies and innovations to the baking industry and AB Mauri is best placed to do just that.”
Simmonds has more than 15 years in the bakery industry and has been with Associated British Foods, the parent company of AB Mauri and AB Mauri Fleischmann’s, for 20 years. Previously, he led the ABF Bakery Ingredients group. He attended the University of Birmingham, England and his primary out of work interests are walking, watching sports and reading military history.
Simmonds will be based in Chesterfield, Missouri, just outside of St. Louis, at the AB Mauri Fleischmann’s headquarters. The current senior management team at AB Mauri Fleischmann’s looks forward to supporting Simmonds in his new role as they work together to bring solutions for baking success to the baking industry.
