A new strategic agreement between the leading exhibition in the foodstuff technology sector and Italmopa, the Italian Industrial Association of Millers and Pasta-Makers belonging to Confindustria and the main national category landmark. This sets off the trade offering in the field

Supporting and promoting the “Bakery, Pastry, Confectionery, Fresh Pasta and Pizza” sector in Italy and abroad by creating “operative synergy” between SIAB – International Techno-Bake Exhibition and the national and international landmark event dedicated to technologies, raw materials and semi-finished goods for production of bread, pastry, pizza, pasta and ice cream – and Italmopa, the Italian Industrial Association of Millers and Pasta-Makers belonging to Confindustria.

This is the objective of the agreement signed by the exhibition organised by VeronaFiere together with Ipack-Ima Spa (a leading company  in the exhibition field in the foodstuff packaging and processing technology sector) and the most representative association in the entire milling industry that boasts more than one hundred members.

Thanks to this agreement, SIAB – scheduled at VeronaFiere next 5-9 May – and Italmopa will contribute towards the growth of one of the most important “Made in Italy” production segments and stimulate even greater visibility all over the world.

Over and above promotion of innovation in fields of common interest, through a series of events in Italy and abroad involving business initiatives and actions, this collaboration also envisages – for coming editions of SIAB – a joint strategic approach and the search for new development courses for companies operating in the Bakery, Pastry, Confectionery, Fresh Pasta and Pizza world.

Italmopa, that also belongs to Federalimentare, is essentially involved with milling companies processing bread wheat and durum wheat. It traces its roots to the Millers and Pasta-Makers Organisations set up in certain major areas throughout Italy towards end of the 1800s. The sector generates business turnover of more than 2.2 billion euro.

“This is a strategic field for Italy,” saidPresident Ivano Vacondio, “and must be increasingly valorised to ensure new development opportunities for our companies. We have given our support to SIAB in this regard because it is the landmark event for the sector, our associates and their clients – bakers and pastry-makers. We aim to expand business areas through the exhibition and thereby extend the range of action for our companies. We are especially focusing – thanks to contacts with SIAB – on the internationalisation of our production segment by helping it penetrate new markets.”

“This agreement joins others already signed in recent months,” said Flavio Piva, co-director general of VeronaFiere, “and is part of a general plan aiming to improve the quality of the event by bringing together, from a trade point of view, all the components in the production value chain – starting with the needs of professional operators. The purpose is to become a partner for companies, providing them support in their production and commercial decisions.”
