“The national promotion was held April 22 and offered Popeyes’ signature, eight-piece, Bonafide chicken item for $4.99 at participating units of the 1,922-unit quick-service chicken chain,” said the story. “These days, many people are feeling like the month outlasts the paycheck,” said Cheryl Bachelder, Popeyes’ chief executive. “We really hit a sweet spot with consumers and received an overwhelming response. It was our way of saying thank you, paying our customers back for their continued support.”
