In this installment of PMQ Live Marketing Masters, PMQ Publisher Steve Green is joined by Kay Heritage of Big Bon Family in Savannah, Georgia. Heritage talks about her passion for working with younger generations and her jack-of-all-trades/master of none philosophy, which has helped build Big Bon Pizza, and more recently, Big Bon Bodega.

“Big Bon’s purpose is to coach our young team members with business and life skills… A lot them are not at Big Bon because this is their job for the rest of their lives; they are aspiring photographers, illustrators, future business owners. So what we try to instill is, while we are making pizzas and bagels, these are the tools that they are practicing with, so when they do have their own business they’ll know how to read PNO and balance sheets [and] manage cash flow,” explains Heritage. “Defining the purpose and values really brought these amazing people to us. It wasn’t about our pizza, it wasn’t how pretty our building looks, and it wasn’t the awesome pizza trailer we have. It was really the purpose and values … Millennials want to be a part of something bigger than themselves, and if we can just share that with them, they will come.”
