According to a news report from oregonlive.com, “With its chief executive ailing, the Hillsboro quick-slice chain Pizza Schmizza has opted to sell itself to Salem take-and-bake specialists Figaro’s Italian Pizza.”
“Pizza Schmizza CEO Doug Wetter, also a major shareholder, is fighting brain cancer and unable to run the business on a day-to-day basis. Company Vice President Rick Glenn said Wetter’s condition prompted Pizza Schmizza to begin talking with Figaro’s last month and to conclude the deal Friday,” said the story.
