According to a news report from tallahassee.com, “When Papa John’s International Inc. instituted mobile Web pizza ordering last July, it didn’t take long to reach $1 million in sales — an indication of just how dynamic the technology can be.”

“What surprised us is it basically occurred that fast without any real promotion,” Bob Ford, director of digital marketing, said of the march to $1 million that took about four months,” said the story. “The Louisville-based company, which has five locations in Tallahassee, is a pioneer in the ordering of pizza online and by text message. Ford considers the milestone the latest for “alternative ordering” channels that enable customers to pick their mode of communication when they’re hungry. Rivals Domino’s and Pizza Hut have similar initiatives.”
