Members of PMQ’s U.S. Pizza Team are helping to create America’s largest pizza delivery in support of Slice Out Hunger on February 9, also known as National Pizza Day.

For the annual nationwide event, dubbed Pizza Across America, pizzeria operators are asked to donate and deliver at least 10 pizzas to a local shelter, soup kitchen, pantry or any hunger action center. And if you sign up by January 22 to participate, Slice Out Hunger will match your pizzeria with a local food provider.

Even if you miss the January 22 deadline, you’re still encouraged to participate in the event by simply partnering with a local nonprofit that combats food insecurity anywhere in the U.S. Click here now to register and receive a free digital media kit to help promote your contribution to Pizza Across America.

In addition to the U.S. Pizza Team, members of the World Pizza Champions are also sponsors of Pizza Across America, along with Ooni and Slice.

Pizza Across America was created by Michael and Nicky Testa, a.k.a. the Jersey Pizza Boys, when they were just 13 and 11 years old. Growing up in their family’s pizzeria, Carmine’s Pizza Factory—owned by Carmine Testa—Michael and Nicky picked up on the art of pizza-dough acrobatics at a young age. Officially dubbed the Jersey Pizza Boys on The Tonight Show, they have made numerous appearances on national TV. They teamed up with Slice Out Hunger in 2018 with the goal of delivering pizza to people in need across all 50 states.

Founded by Scott Wiener of Scott’s Pizza Tours in New York City, Slice Out Hunger is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that has raised more than $1.3M to fund hunger relief efforts around the U.S. since 2009. Its founding principle was simple: use food donated by pizzerias to raise money for local hunger relief organizations. It all started with a $1 Pizza Party that featured a handful of pizzerias and raised about $500. Ten years later, Slice Out Hunger’s 2019 event raised $75,000 for Citymeals on Wheels in New York City. Slice Out Hunger’s $1 Pizza Party has become an annual event in New York City and continues to inspire similar events around the country.
