According to KSBY.com, “Kids and pizza go hand and hand, and the Pismo Beach Police Department seems to know that.”

“For the seventh year in a row, officers there handed out free slices to school kids to mark the start of their summer break. The event has quickly become an annual tradition for many students. Officers say this gives them a chance to build relationships with young people in the community. Police Chief Jeff Norton said, ‘It’s just a really fun event and we look forward to doing it and I think the kids do. It’s kind of a kickoff to their summer and we’ll keep doing it as long as they keep coming.’ They will keep coming. Many students said they plan on being back at the pier next year. Del’s Pizzeria in Shell Beach provided all of the pizzas free of charge.”
