What’s the “dill” with the latest menu items from Hungry Howie’s? The chain has picked a peck of pickles to make its pizza flavors pop.

As the longtime national headquarters of flavored pizza crusts, Hungry Howie’s has introduced the Dill Pickle Flavored Crust for fans to pair with their favorite toppings, along with a new Pickle Bacon Ranch pie that offers what the company calls a “perfect blend of flavor and crunch.”

“This summer, we have something different that our guests can relish over,” said Jeff Rinke, Hungry Howie’s vice president of research and development, in a press release. “With our new Pickle Bacon Ranch Pizza and Dill Pickle Flavored Crust, we’re pushing the culinary boundaries with a flavor bomb that’s savory, smokey, briny, creamy and sweet.

“We know it sounds crazy, and it may be the next controversial pizza topping since pineapples,” Rinke added, “but if you’re a fan of the salty-sweet combo, pickles and pizza is a winning flavor combination worth trying.”

Both items became available on June 27 for a limited time. The Pickle Bacon Ranch Pizza features dill pickle slices, bacon, ranch dressing and mozzarella, and Hungry Howie’s recommends ordering the pie with the pickle-flavored crust for maximum “dilliciousness.”
