“Customers line up at Rocco’s Pizza, 1053 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, for the chance to buy a pizza at 1962 prices,” according to the Akron Beacon Journal. “The Caponi family, who owns and operates the business, were offering cheese pizzas for $1.95 and pepperoni pizzas for $2.25 from 4 to 10 p.m. Monday to celebrate 50 years in business at the same location.

Founder Mario Caponi, 80, began selling pizzas out of his father’s shoe repair shop on West Thornton Street in Akron in 1953, and moved his business to the Falls location nine years later. Caponi’s son Rocco now runs the shop, while son Mario operates a second location on Graham Road in Stow.
