“The Internal Revenue Service has seized roughly $63,000 from the bank account of the owners of Mystic Pizza, according to a legal notice published in the Westerly Sun.” Tuesday.

“According to the notice, the IRS seized $63,084.49 from a Chelsea Groton Bank account held by John, George and Christos Zelepos, doing business as Mystic Pizza LLC, on Jan. 20 of this year. The money is intended for “administrative forfeiture” for violations of Title 31 of the U.S. Code, section 5324(a), titled “Structuring Transactions to Evade Reporting Requirement Prohibited. ‘This is the type of thing we do in the normal course of our business as criminal investigators,’ IRS Spokeswoman Jessica Crocker said.”
