A new era is dawning at Mikey’s Late Night Slice. The wildly eccentric brand—home of LTO pizzas like the Loaded Mr. Potato Head and the Silence of the Buffalo Chickensannounced it will open a ninth location near Ohio State University’s campus. Though the brand is based Columbus, Ohio, the move will give Mikey’s Late Night Slice its first stronghold situated directly beside the university’s campus.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring our pizza party experience to this new location near campus,” Mikey Sorboro, founder of Mikey’s Late Night Slice, told 614 Magazine. “We’ve had our eye on a location near Ohio State for a while now, and finally the timing, the project and partners have clicked for us.”

Mikey’s Late Night Slice was an idea hatched by Sorboro, a former pedi-cab driver who kept hearing requests to be taken to the nearest pizzeria that was open late. With nowhere to take those hungry (and perhaps inebriated) folks, Sorboro teamed up with some friends, Jason Biundo and Bryce Ungerott, to launch Mikey’s Late Night Slice in Columbus, Ohio, in 2009.

The concept has proven hugely popular and holds a special place in many hearts due to its irreverent personality geared toward the type of people who enjoy a gigantic slice of pizza during, or after, a night out on the town. Namely, the pizza company, which PMQ featured on its January-February 2017 cover, masterfully uses its social channels and famous memes to engage its loyal following.

The new Mikey’s location will be located in University Square South, just off of Ohio State’s campus. It will feature Mikey’s signature menu of adventurous, massive pizzas. There are pies that are menu staples like Cheese With Basil, Plain-Ass Pepperoni, Spicy Ass Pepperoni and Mushroom. The brand mixes in a Pizza of the Week that keeps people on their toes: This week it’s The Festivus, featuring the “colorful, comforting flavors of Roasted Red Peppers, Spinach and Honey Glazed Ham.”

Mikey’s currently has eight total locations across Ohio, with some in Columbus and one in Cincinnati.
