TOLEDO, OH–(Marketwire – December 18, 2007) – Marco’s Pizza, founded here 29 years ago and home of the Ah! Thentic Italian Pizza, has named Peter Wise, a 24-year domestic and international marketing veteran, to the position of marketing vice president.

Jack Butorac, Jr., president of Marco’s Franchising, LLC, who with a team of franchise development specialists launched Marco’s on a national expansion program, announced the appointment.

“Peter Wise is yet another piece to our management puzzle of savvy, experienced management executives who will help move us towards our growth and revenue goals,” Butorac said. “Our current franchise development team has over 200 years combined experience.”

Wise was general manager, executive director, brand and communication strategist for Landor Associates, San Francisco and Irvine, CA in years prior to the appointment. Since 1998, his responsibilities included leadership of 140 employees for clients such as ETRADE Financial, FedEx, Ford Motor and others. Before that, he was a senior vice president and group director for Young & Rubicam in New York and Detroit. He also has experience in international marketing and advertising with Young & Rubicam Brasil, and BBDO Advertising Dubai, and Marketing Manager for Mercedes-Benz in the U.S.

Wise attended high school in Ohio, and graduated from Bowling Green State University where he earned a bachelor of business administration and marketing degree.

Marco’s Pizza currently has 161 units in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, Nevada and Arizona with plans to be in 12 states by First Quarter 2008 and 500 units by 2010.

The company was founded by Italian native Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco, who remains with the company as a franchisee and in product development. Marco’s is the only Top 25 Pizza Chain that can trace the heritage of its founder to Italy.
