Letter from the publisher

I hope you'll find the first-ever PMQ's The Pizza Pages issue one you'll want to keep around all year long. That was the idea behind it. One part buyers guide, one part first aid kit and one part marketing and planning calendar to keep your pizza sales building efforts on schedule throughout 2004.

When you see omissions, errors or have suggestions on any new resources our readers should be made aware of, please let us know so we can immediately correct the information online where the pizza pages will be updated daily and open 24 hours a day at www.thepizzapages.com. Please email any information to mail@thepizzapages.com or call or fax our PMQ office. Thanks.

The issue you are now holding will replace our current New Industry Welcome Kit, which PMQ mails to our weekly list of new pizza operators supplied from Keith Gellman's Foodservice Report.

New York Pizza Show Sells Over 50 Booths in First Two Weeks

Thanks for the incredible and enthusiastic support we've received since announcing our plans to launch our first-ever pizza show in New York City, November 2-3rd, 2004. The attendee inquiries and booth registration has been well beyond our optimistic projections. We are now entering the detailed planning phase of creating the kind of pizza show I would have wanted to attend when I was selling pizzas for a living.

PMQ Magazine Begins BPA Audit Process

Now that PMQ Magazine is going to be visiting your mailbox six times per year, we thought it was about time to become BPA certified. BPA tells us that the process will take about a year to complete.

NAPICS, US Pizza Team to be featured on CBS Television

If all goes according to plan, a crew from the CBS Early Show will be following the journey of a U.S. Pizza Team Acrobatic contestant and record and report on their progress at the U.S. Pizza Team Culinary and Acrobatic Trials in Columbus, Ohio, on February 8th and 9th. For attendee information on NAPICS, call 800-909-7469. To register for the Culinary Competition, call Kelly at 800-282-9049, or to register for the acrobatic competition, call Caroline Felker at 662-234-5481 ext 125.

One again, a very special thanks for the involvement of the following companies in their support of our U.S. Pizza Team.
