According to a news report from mcall.com, “A bid by an owner of a Palmerton pizzeria to sell takeout beer from her Delaware Avenue business met resistance from neighbors and a bar owner, and a councilman asked the owner if she was a citizen.”

“Gulnar Rasim, who owns and operates Palmerton Pizza & Restaurant at 685 Delaware Ave. along with her husband, applied to transfer a liquor license from Bowmanstown to her business so the restaurant can sell takeout beer,” said the story. “Rasim said the pizzeria has been operating at its current location for 10 years, and had been down the street for four years before that. She described the restaurant as family-oriented and ”will stay that way,” selling pizza, gyros, stromboli and other Italian food.”
