According to a news report from Gazette.net, ‘‘It’s like you’re married to the business,” said Tony Testa, owner of Rocky’s Pizza in Thurmont. Although he does spend most of his waking hours at the pizza parlor at the corner of the Orchard Hills shopping center, the ring on Testa’s finger is from Assunta, his wife whom he met more than two decades ago in their homeland of Italy. Most people in Thurmont know her as Tina, and she also works at Rocky’s Pizza.”

“Testa has been serving up his version of New York-style pizza for 17 years in Thurmont. Along the way he has donated pizzas, year after year, to the Catoctin High School Safe and Sane graduation night parties. He has also helped Emmitsburg’s Mother Seton School and the Catoctin High School athletic boosters raise money by allowing them to bank the profits from sales of pizzas or spaghetti dinners made in his restaurant,” according to the article. “For his efforts in helping to funnel cash into the high school’s sports programs, the Catoctin High School athletic boosters called him to the stage on senior awards night in June. Audience members rose to their feet and clapped as Testa approached the stage.”
