According to the Hattiesburg American, “GattiTown – a restaurant combining a pizza buffet with family entertainment – is coming to Hattiesburg, with an opening planned for this fall.”

“The restaurant will occupy a 20,000-square-foot slot in the Oak Grove Plaza at 4600 Hardy St., next to Toys “R” Us. If the name rings a bell, there’s a reason. Mr. Gatti’s Pizza was a pizza buffet staple at the corner of 40th Avenue and Hardy Street, before closing its Hattiesburg location in the late 1990s. Mr. Gatti’s Pizza is now Gatti’s Pizza, with more than 140 locations in the Midwest and South. GattiTown, with more than 25 locations including Ridgeland and Meridian, is a corporate offshoot that adds games, prizes and party rooms, said April Smith, director of marketing and communications for Gatti’s Pizza, based in Austin, Texas. The Hattiesburg location will have a 6,500-square-foot gameroom, featuring bumper cars, a 20-foot carousel, as well as other rides and video games,” the story said.
