EVERETT, WA (December 1, 2006) — Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza®, the first and only “gourmet” carry out and delivery pizza chain, proudly announces the appointment of Alexis Nepomuceno as Chief Marketing Officer/Chief Information Officer (CMO/CIO), effective December 1, 2006.
 
In his new role as Chief Marketing Officer, Nepomuceno will manage the marketing functions of Garlic Jim’s Franchise Systems, including: market research, marketing communications, the Garlic Jim’s Web site, network development, and developing and executing strategic marketing plans. Additionally, he’ll plan and direct all aspects of the organization’s marketing policies, objectives and initiatives.
 
In his role as Chief Information Officer, Nepomuceno will direct and manage all information technology strategic planning, policies and programs to accomplish corporate goals and objectives. He is responsible for the maintenance and continued development of all Garlic Jim’s Internet assets, such as websites and other online efforts.

Prior to joining Garlic Jim’s, Nepomuceno spent 6 years at the Association of Washington Business (AWB), most recently in the role of vice president of communications, where he was also the executive editor for Washington Business Magazine, executive producer of the Washington Business Weekly radio program and director of all of AWB’s web activities. Prior to AWB, Nepomuceno co-founded and was chief technology officer for iPolitics.com. Since 1984, Nepomuceno has consulted numerous campaigns and organizations regarding Internet presence and technologies.
 
Nepomuceno has been heavily involved in community activities including service on the Seattle YMCA’s Board of Managers and Peter M. Putnam Foundation Board of Directors. An alumnus of the University of Washington, he studied international communications and was elected vice president of the student body. He lives in Olympia with his wife J-Anne.
 
With over 85 units sold and 33 opened, Garlic Jim’s plans of selling over 100 units and opening another 5 for a total of 38 opened units by year’s end are on track. In addition to current locations in Oregon, Arizona, Pennsylvania and Washington, Garlic Jim’s has units under development in California, New Jersey and Dallas, with franchise sales beginning in Denver and Nevada this year.
