“The New York Giants’ all-time leading receiver, Amani Toomer, urged kids here yesterday to exercise, develop healthy eating habits, and “Rethink Pizza,” according to the Jersey Journal.

“Habits that you guys create as young children are the ones that are going to be with you for the rest of you life,” the former player, who lives in West New York, told students at the Harry L. Bain Elementary School as part of the NFL’s “Fuel Up to Play 60” initiative.

Toomer was a hit with the kids, most of them Giants fans at the school, which beat out more than 150 New Jersey public schools in a pizza-recipe contest. He happily took pictures with and signed autographs for both kids and faculty.”

The school also received a check for $1,000 from the American Dairy Association.”
