Convert Wood-Fired Oven to Gas

Sourcing wood for a pizza oven can become a problem for any pizzeria, and wood can be costly and difficult to manage. Setting a fire in a wood fired pizza ovens takes time, and creating the same fire every day takes a certain skill.

The Vamparossa gas burner takes the hassle and guesswork out of building a fire, and of particular interest to restaurateurs, it is quick and convenient to operate.

Charlotte‐based Vamparossa (“Vamparossa” means “red blaze”) has designed a gas burner that converts any traditional pizza oven to allow cooking with gas, wood or both together, otherwise known as dual‐fuel. This fuel source replaces wood, but gives the same flavor as wood.

Vamparossa founder Frank Shepherdson commented, “When you run a pizzeria, consistency cost are big factors. With a Vamparossa burner, you get the same results every time, even if you change the oven‐master.” He went on to say, “Customers tell us our burner saves them 30 percent or more on fuel costs.” He added, "More and more cities restrict and even prohibit the use of wood fire, and the burner is a life‐saver in those situations.”

Produced in the shadow of the Ferrari factory near Modena using finely designed and beautifully engineered components, the burners make it easy to enjoy the same unmistakable flavor and quality of cooking results as wood fire.

“Most importantly, every burner is tested in the factory, and the entire range is UL Listed” said Shepherdson.
