According to a news report from bcbr.com, “Beau Jo’s Pizza is returning to Boulder to serve its famous thick pizza pies.”

“The Lakewood-based pizza restaurant plans to open its ninth Colorado location at 2690 Baseline Road east of Basemar Shopping Center. The restaurant recently received approval for a tenant remodel of the 4,892-square-foot space, formerly occupied by Fiascos Grill,” said the story. “Beau Jo’s used to have a Boulder location along Arapahoe Road, before leaving the city in the late 1990s. Founded in 1973, Beau Jo’s is locally known for its thick pizzas also called mountain pies. It uses honey as a natural sweetener rather than sugar for its dough and pizza sauce. It also provides honey dip, to help diners finish off their pizza crust.”
