According to a news report from newsnet.byu.edu, “A New York style pizzeria, located just south of campus, brings a slice of the Big Apple to BYU.”

“Nina’s Original NY Pizzeria and Juice Bar was started by Nina and William Marano – who recently moved from New York to Provo when Nina was accepted into BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. They searched Provo for good New York pizza but did not find anything that satisfied their expert taste, William Marano said,” according to the story. “We love the pizza business and we also love good food,” Nina Marano said. “There wasn’t any good New York pizza in Provo.” The Maranos decided to put their knowledge of the subject to use and create their own New York pizzeria. William Marano started his career as a pizza maker at the age of 4 with his grandparents and was involved in 15 different restaurants, mostly in New York City. The couple has been in the pizzeria business together since their marriage 10 years ago. This restaurant is their first in Utah.”
