• With Super Bowl Sunday coming up, Domino’s will “tip” its carryout customers $3 if they place their orders online.
  • The tip is actually a $3 coupon code that must be used for the customer’s next online carryout order the following week.

When a customer picks up an order from Domino’s, they essentially serve as their own pizza delivery drivers. So now the country’s No. 1 pizza chain is giving them what every delivery person deserves: a tip.

The company announced recently that carryout customers who place their orders online can claim a $3 “tip,” which can be applied to their next online carryout order.

“It takes skill to get pizza from a Domino’s store to your door,” said Art D’Elia, Domino’s executive president–chief marketing officer. “As a reward, Domino’s is giving a $3 tip to online carryout customers who take the time and energy out of their day to act as their own delivery drivers. After all, we think they deserve it.”

Carryout customers who order online through May 22, 2022, are eligible to claim the $3 coupon code, which has to be redeemed for another online carryout order the following week. A minimum purchase of $5 (before tax and gratuity) is required.

Customers can combine their carryout tip with their favorite carryout deal as well.

The promotion runs well past Super Bowl Sunday, but Domino’s is clearly hoping to ease some of the demand on their drivers during the Big Game, one of the busiest days of the year for the pizza restaurant industry. “Domino’s typically sells about 2 million pizzas on football’s favorite Sunday, so if you’re throwing a party and feeding hungry fans, make it a carryout order and get tipped,” D’Elia said. “Then you can treat yourself to a delicious pizza with a great deal the week after.”
