"Opposition is arising to a proposal by Domino’s Pizza to open a branch in Roslindale Village," according to Boston.com.

“The soul of Roslindale Village is being challenged,” said Steve Gag, president of Roslindale Village Main Street.

The proposed location, 4238 Washington St., is across from Adams Park and next door to another restaurant chain, Subway. Domino’s has a store at 4640 Washington St., less than two miles away in West Roxbury.

Roslindale Village Main Street is hosting a community meeting Monday night to discuss the plan. Dave McNulty, from Mayor Thomas Menino’s office, will be chairing the meeting.

The nonprofit says it opposes Domino's being in the Village because it would unfairly compete with several mom-and-pop pizza shops nearby."
