“Steve Carell is a lovable guy. He raises the corners of your mouth and causes stitches in your sides, and he even has the acting power to break your heart a little (think “Crazy, Stupid, Love”). But the funnyman may have just become even more lovable following an alleged 45-minute impromptu pizza shift at a pizzeria in North Hollywood,” according to the Gothamist.

“Numerous news reports have claimed Carell hopped behind the counter of his favorite NoHo pizza shop to help out the owner during a brief period of understaffed chaos. Carell reportedly arrived at the shop to pick up his pie and noticed the owner frantically managing all tasks since an employee that day was a no-show.

The 49-year-old actor allegedly strapped on an apron and spent 45 minutes taking orders and answering the phone. His short stint as a pizzeria employee even earned him a free pie. Contactmusic.com reports the owner stated, “Take the pizza. It costs me less than having to pay you.”

Most reports neglect to mention the same of the pizza shop, but two comments in response to today’s Patch coverage say the memorable moment occurred at Barone’s on Oxnard Street.”
