“A Rocky Hill-based group is encouraging folks to taste slices from 10 of the city’s best pizza houses — and help feed Middletown’s hungry families in the process,” according to the Middletown Patch.

“Feed the People Charity is hosting tonight’s Pizza War at the Sons of Italy, 72 Court St., from 5-8 p.m. The event allows diners to sample pizza from restaurants including Alpha Pizza, Dominos, Empire Pizza, Famous Pizza, First and Last Restaurant, Illiano’s Pizza, Mondo Restaurant, Pizza Palace, Roberto’s Restaurant, Sammy’s Restaurant and Tommy’s Restaurant — and vote for the best.

“People are going to be hungry every night even in a community like Middletown,” says Jane Rolon, president of Feed the People Charity. “Our primary goal is we understand the need for food.”
