According to WickedLocal.com, “A first for the Woburn area will take place on Saturday, April 24, at the Sons of Italy Hall, when local pizzerias compete for the title of Area Pizza King or Queen.”

“Sixteen pizza places from Woburn, Winchester, Burlington and Stoneham will provide the pizza for this fundraising event which will benefit the Joslin Diabetes Center and help provide assistance to area residents afflicted with diabetes as part of the Lion’s Breakfast Club’s Diabetes Awareness month. ‘This event will culminate the month’s activities,” said future president Al Autenzio. “The family pizza night will have something for everybody.’ Adults pay $5, while seniors pay $4 and kids are $3. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and pizza will be served until 8:30 p.m. At 9 p.m. the votes will be tabulated as to who has the best pizza. There will be entertainment, raffles for athletic events, memorabilia and gift certificates.”
