According to bizjournals.com, “a decade after the popular local chain debuted, the original location of Austin’s Pizza in the 800-block of 12th Street has been closed.”

“The 11-store chain said the site’s landlord, Austin Community College, plans to make use of the property in the near future. Austin’s Pizza had a lease through 2012 but the facility needed upgrades and owner JD Torian said it didn’t make sense to invest when closure was imminent. The college, which has its Rio Grande campus just steps away, and Austin’s Pizza are in talks about the possiblity of eventually reopening a store on the site. Torian said the chain’s flagship location on Guadalupe and its newest location on 35th Street will cover the needs of its downtown and Central Austin customers.”
