According to the Boston Herald, Despite opposition from some neighbors, Suffolk University will lease the ground floor of the school’s Tremont Street dorm to Sal’s Pizza.

“’Suffolk engaged in a lengthy community process and heard the voices of all the stakeholders,’ said Greg Gatlin, a Suffolk spokesman. “While the sentiment for having Sal’s was not unanimous, we have received strong support for it.’ The fight to keep Sal’s from the 600-square-foot space in Downtown Crossing was led by residents of Tremont on the Common, the condominium community next door to the dorm. Some of the owners said a fast-food restaurant would attract undesirables to the changing neighborhood.  But Gatlin said Sal Lupoli agreed to a number of requests from neighbors including closing the shop at 10 p.m., not serving beer or wine, and adding other food items to the menu such as salads, fresh bread and sandwiches. Also, there will be no outdoor seating,” the story said.
