We are excited to announce “SHORTY’S INAUGURAL PRO-AM PIZZA DESIGN COMPETITION”. We want you to tell us about your favorite pizza, or the best pizza you have ever had. The winner will get a cash prize of $1,000 and the winning pie will also be added to the menu. That got your attention, didn’t it? Full details about this competition later in the newsletter, but the following must be said, right up front … the bootlegging of awesome recipes from other pizza joints is acceptable, will be tolerated, and is strongly encouraged

Everyone (in the world) is invited to submit a favorite pizza recipe for a chance to win a $1,000 cash prize. The winning pizza will also be permanently added to the menu at shorty’s. This event is open to professional chefs and amateur cooks alike – anyone and everyone can enter as many times as they want to, but there is a $1 fee per entry.

The competition will end at midnight on June 7th, 2008. The finals/judging will take place on Sunday, June 15th at 2pm at shorty’s in
Tucker, GA. Ten pizzas will be selected as FINALISTS and these will be announced via shorty’s monthly eblast newsletter on June 10th, 2008. Tickets for the finals will be available for $20 per person, and the entry fee will include samples of each of the ten finalist pizzas, along with selected beers and wines.

Entry forms may be posted eventually on our myspace page (www.myspace.com/shortys_pizza), but they can be picked up right now at either restaurant. All entries must be submitted with the entry fee ($1 per entry) which must be paid in cash, in person at a shorty’s location. No email, myspace, or telephone entries please.

In keeping with shorty’s rock n’ roll theme, designers must pick an appropriate name for their creation. The Judges reserve the right to rename the winning pizza if it is deemed to have been given a name that lacks “street credibility”. Bootlegging awesome recipes from other pizza joints is strongly encouraged. The Judges decision is final. All ingredients are fair game, but common sense should dictate that recipes which include ingredients like Beluga Caviar, Lobster, Sea Urchin, and Fresh Truffles will be a tough sell at shorty’s, and will probably not make it to the finals. Good luck.
