According to a news report from myfoxmemphis.com, “Joe Gomez knows he can make a pizza pleasing to the presidential palate — and he has a memento of thanks to prove it.”

“Gomez, manager of Milano’s New York Pizza restaurant in Southaven, said he got a special request to make three large pepperoni pizzas for President Bush when he opened for work on October 15th,” said the story. “Bush flew into Memphis last week for a $1,000-per-person fundraiser for Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander. Gomez said one of the soldiers guarding Air Force One told Bush’s staff about Milano’s, after the president requested a New York-style pizza.”
