According to a news report from blog.mlive.com, “Vitale’s Pizza will be the first restaurant to serve beer and wine in the city since voters last November overturned a nearly century-old ban on liquor sales.”

“We could be serving in six to eight weeks,” Vitale’s co-owner Ryan Snyder said. The Michigan Liquor Control Commission approved the pizzeria’s application for a Class C liquor license. That approval is contingent on Vitale’s passing an on-site inspection from the commission’s enforcement division,” said the story. “It moved along sooner than I expected,” Snyder said. “I’m very pleased with it.” Snyder, who owns Vitale’s with his wife, Maria, is the only establishment in Zeeland to apply for a liquor license since the city started accepting applications last spring.”
