“(Chandler, Arizona) – The Pies and Sharkey Families (members of Team Sweetie Pies) of the Phoenix Valley are holding a fundraiser at Gennaro’s Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen on Thursday, August 16, 2007 to raise money for the 2007 Arizona Breast Cancer 3-Day. Team Sweetie Pies is joining thousands of other dedicated women and men for the Arizona Breast Cancer 3-Day, a three-day, 60-mile walk benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund,” said the story. “In order to participate, each walker must train for the event and commit to raising a minimum of $2,200. “This is the 4th year that Team Sweetie Pies has participated in the Arizona 3-Day in honor of our mother, Gay Pies, a breast cancer survivor,” said Lori Pies.  “With this fundraiser, we are hoping to exceed our fundraising goal and encourage additional community involvement.  With Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust as beneficiaries, we are helping to ensure funding is available for important research and community outreach programs.”
