When No. 1-ranked Clemson plays North Carolina for the ACC title Saturday, more will be on the line than a trip to the College Football Playoffs. Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney has promised a pizza party for at least 20,000 fans—win or lose. The Greenville News says five Papa John's stores will deliver enough pies to feed ravenous Tiger fans at Death Valley in Clemson on the day after the big game. Several independent pizzerias made a run for the gig, including Rick's Pizza and Pub in Pendleton, which put up a billboard that read, "Dabo, we want your pizza order." Owner Rick Sutliff said he knew the big chains' offensive firepower would prevail, but he still wanted to express his Tiger love.

Sign of the Times: Turkey Day Surprise
A Springfield, Ohio, pizzeria parlayed its concern for the hungry into a festive demonstration of neighborly love when it opened its doors to about 100 grateful diners on Thanksgiving Day. ABC 22 News in Dayton, Ohio, reports that Bada Bing! in nearby Springfield posted a sign in its window that stated, "Closed for Thanksgiving." But the notice ended with an unexpected message: "If you are hungry or don't have any money, please come in." The sign was shared on Facebook and Reddit, earning enormous goodwill for Bada Bing! and owner Jason Hague. Donations of turkeys and pies flooded in, and leftovers were donated to the local fire department and a homeless shelter.
