From pizza parties to frightfully fun toppings, pizza operators around the country prepare for Halloween night since it is one of the most popular days of the year to order a pizza, according to The American Pizza Community (APC). The coalition of pizza companies, franchisees, suppliers and other vendors say that 85 percent of pizza today is consumed at home as families turn to the convenience of pizza delivery and carry out to share family meals.
"Pizza is a great choice for Halloween because it’s customizable for every taste, nutritious and convenient for busy families heading out the door to trick-or-treat," said Lynn M. Liddle, Chair of the APC.
The APC offers a few tips to prepare for ordering pizza on Halloween:
- Place your order early or ahead of time! Avoid the busy dinner rush and order before 5:00 p.m.
- Choose carry-out as an option. With so many orders anticipated, choose to pick-up your order at the store.
- Order online! Phone lines will likely be busier than usual, so placing an online order may save time.
And lastly, with more than 70,000 pizzerias around the country, there are plenty of pizza stores in local communities everywhere to choose your favorite pie!
