According to the Charlotte Observer, “A local pizza franchisee is giving away $15 gift cards, but with an unenviable catch: You have to be unemployed to receive one”

“Mack Patterson, who owns 38 Domino’s Pizza stores in the region, is offering free $15 gift cards to the first 135 people to show up at one of two Charlotte locations bearing proof of unemployment, such as a letter: 16625 Lancaster Highway at Ardrey Kell Road, in the Ballantyne area, and 3233 The Plaza, in east Charlotte.”

“The promotion begins at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, when the stores open, and lasts until Aug. 5 or when the cards run out, whichever is sooner. The first qualifying person at each location will also receive a pair of tickets to the “American Idols Live!” concert Saturday in Charlotte. The aim, Domino’s said, is to drum up sales at those locations while lifting the spirits of the unemployed,” the story said.
