New England chain Papa Gino’s Pizzeria has partnered with Tuscan Brands, a fellow New England-based company, to manufacture all of the company’s frozen pizzas.

The new frozen pizza is created at Tuscan Brands’ state-of-the-art Tuscan Market in Salem, New Hampshire, using authentic ingredients and Papa Gino’s 80-year-old family recipe. The crust has been reformulated to better reflect Papa Gino’s fresh-made pizza crusts. The pizzas feature the same Papa Gino’s signature cheese blend and sauce used in restaurants. All of the ingredients come together to create a product that is as similar as possible to freshly made pizzas from Papa Gino’s restaurants in a convenient frozen format to be enjoyed at home.

Papa Gino’s Frozen Pizza varieties include the Signature 3-Cheese, Extra Cheese, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, and Pepper & Onion. They are available now in stores across New England, including Big Y, Market Basket, Shaw’s, Roche Bros., Donelan’s, Crosby’s, Price Chopper and Trucchi’s. For the first time, BJ’s will carry two-packs of Signature 3-Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza.

“The partnership with Tuscan Brands is an exciting one for Papa Gino’s,” said Papa Gino’s CMO Deena McKinley. “We had the opportunity to take a fresh look at our recipe and processes to ensure that we are giving guests an experience that reflects the quality they have come to expect from our restaurants while expanding our product availability to stores throughout the region.”

Founded in 1961, Papa Gino’s Pizzeria started with a single store in East Boston and has expanded to nearly 100 restaurants in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut.

Tuscan Brands was founded in 2010 by Joe Faro, who now holds the title of chief food taster. Faro started Tuscan Brands with the opening of the first Tuscan Kitchen Restaurant. Now with four restaurants, two markets and a manufacturing facility, the company is ideally suited to a partnership with Papa Gino’s.

“Papa Gino’s is a hometown brand just like us, and that’s why this partnership is going to be a winner,” said Steven Zenlea, president and COO of Artisan Chef Manufacturing Co. “We look forward to bringing that genuine Papa Gino’s taste home to enthusiastic fans of the brand in New England and beyond, using our authentic ingredients and new manufacturing facility.”
