Via 313, the Austin-founded Detroit-style pizza brand, is rolling out the DLX 313 at all of its locations after the item performed strongly in its first markets.

Since its launch, the four-flavor large pizza has held the No. 2 spot among large pizzas at Via 313 stores in Utah and ranked No. 1 in San Antonio stores.

The DLX 313 combines four of the brand’s core pies on one large pan, double cut into 16 squares: The Detroiter, The Ambassador Bridge, The Cadillac and The Bobo Brazil. Pricing ranges from $34 to $36 by market.

The format targets two gaps at once, giving first-time guests a low-risk way to sample the full menu and groups a higher-ticket shareable. The early sales rankings suggest it is doing both, the company said.

As Detroit-style continues to gain ground outside the Midwest, the DLX 313 is a case study in using a sampler format to drive trial and awareness in newer markets.
