According to a news report from gazetteandherald.co.uk, “Family and friends are mourning the death of pizza king Tino Pupilli after he lost his ten-month battle against cancer.”

“The 56-year-old, who was famed for his pizzas, was diagnosed ten months ago and died at his home in Broadleas Park, Devizes, on Thursday,” said the story. “Mr Pupilli, who was born in Camerino in Italy, lived in Devizes for almost 30 years and loved the town. He was a larger than life character and most people in the town knew him. He was best known for the time when he and his wife, Geraldine, ran the Elm Tree pub in High Street, which became renowned for his pizzas. When they left the Elm Tree he moved to the Lawrence Room restaurant in the Bear Hotel and served pizzas three evenings a week.”
