Georgia-based Amici Italian Café will open its second restaurant in Covington, Georgia in early December. The location will represent the brand’s 12th restaurant in the Atlanta area. There is also a 13th Amici Italian Café storefront in Easton, South Carolina. The new location will be the only pizza restaurant to serve fresh, made-from-scratch gourmet pizzas and pastas, wings, sandwiches, soups, salads and a variety of appetizers along the restaurant row in the innovative, mixed-use development of Covington Town Center, Foxhill Development Limited.

“We are excited that Amici Italian Café will be among the first restaurants in the highly anticipated Covington Town Center,” Chris Torino, Principle Amici Food Group, said, “From its modern design and fun brewery, our 12th Georgia restaurant will be a destination that reflects the meaning of ‘amici’—friend. With our award winning menu including made from scratch pizza family and friends will create memories together.”

The restaurant’s modern design includes a brewery which completes the experience where customers will enjoy a great time with friends and family. House brews, Mexican Lager, Lazy Daze IPA, Frantic Lager, and Hefeweizen, complement the family-friendly food. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for mid December, (date: TBD). Special guests from the Covington-Newton Chamber of Commerce will join in the festivities.

According to Harry Kitchens, CEO of Foxhill Development, “Our objective in selecting the prospective tenants was to identify the ‘best in class’ of each category. I think we have achieved our objective.” Kitchens, said, “At build-out Covington Town Center will draw approximately 32,000 visits per day. Our project will be a point of destination for the region in providing hospitality, dining, shopping, and luxury living.”

The Town Square project is connected by over 4 miles of sidewalks and walking trails. Covington Town Center represents a $375 million investment in the community. Area corporations include Bridgestone Golf’s headquarters, General Mills, SKE, Archer Aviation, Emory at Oxford University and Cinelease Studios.

This year Amici Italian Café celebrates 30 years in business. Founded in 1993 by Chris Torino, Amici currently has twelve restaurants throughout Georgia including Athens, Milledgeville, Macon, Madison, Monroe, Lake Oconee, Covington, Fayetteville and Conyers. In addition, there is a location in Easley, South Carolina. By the beginning of 2024, with the opening of a location in Perry, Georgia, there will thirteen Amici Italian Cafés in Georgia.

There is a strong student following from nearby colleges including Emory University-Oxford; Georgia State University. Amici has 8 franchised restaurants with a development schedule to include 10 future restaurants.
