In honor of Mothers Day, Wise Guys Pizza & Deli has been doing the cooking for certain lucky moms in Meriden, Connecticut. The pizza shop, which opened in January, has awarded free food to mothers nominated by customers all week long.

“A lot of moms are homeschooling, working from home, trying to take care of the house,” Wise Guys manager Michael Mingolello told a local TV station. “So I just figured we could do something nice to alleviate that.”

Each winning mom receives a free personal pizza and a slice of molten chocolate lava cake. To kick off the Mothers Day promotion, the Wise Guys owners picked the first winner, Jo-Ann Hall, a local first responder. In gratitude, Hall decided to pay it forward and made a donation to buy food for five more mothers.

Customers are encouraged to nominate moms through Wise Guys’ Facebook page.

Wise Guys also recently gave away masks—produced by local company Silver City Ballroom—with every order of a large cheese pizza.
