According to a press release, Pizza Pizza Limited, Canada’s pizza experts, opened the doors to a second traditional restaurant in British Columbia on July 2nd. The restaurant, located at 7348 Kingsway, in Burnaby, is part of a Canada-wide strategic expansion and follows the opening of the first B.C. store in Delta earlier this year.
The local partner, Elmo Fernando, brings years of experience from the hospitality industry, which includes Edmonton’s Sutton Place and previous experience in the services and hotel industry in his home country of Sri Lanka.
The Burnaby restaurant is part of a larger strategic expansion throughout the country that has included new locations in Montreal, Winnipeg, and Saskatchewan.
“Pizza Pizza is a strong brand in the Canadian market,” said Mr. Fernando. “I wanted a challenge that would give me something of my own but with the support of an experienced team. “I’m looking forward to working hard to help build the brand in the B.C. market.”
Company marks expansion with special pizza party
To celebrate the opening, Pizza Pizza will be hosting a special pizza party for residents of the region on Saturday July 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The two Pizza Pizza outlets in the area (Delta and Burnaby), will host a special pizza party which will include balloons, prizes, discounted pizza slices and fun for the whole family.

There will even be a draw for free pizza for a year.
Gift cards, for $25, will be given away to the first 25 customers that come to the event
Pepperoni and cheese pizza slices, French fries, and onion rings will be sold for only 99 cents each from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The new Delta store will also be offering the same specials on the day of the event.
