Opening to Benefit Citymeals-On-Wheels and Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) (NASDAQ:CPKI), home of the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza and other innovative hearth-baked pizzas, made-to-order pastas, creative salads, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and desserts, opened its second location in New York City in midtown Manhattan today.

The restaurant is located at 440 Park Avenue South, on Park Avenue South at 30th Street in New York City. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Guests can dine-in or place a take-out order by calling 212-685-6700.

The menu will feature all of the popular favorites, including the Thai Chicken Pizza, Jamaican Jerk Pizza, BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad and Shanghai Garlic Noodles, as well as five new menu items: Mediterranean Salad, Pan Sautéed Salmon served with fresh grilled asparagus and spaghettini in a creamy lemon-caper sauce, Cajun Pizza with blackened chicken and spicy andouille sausage with a Creole sauce, The Works Pizza topped with sweet Italian sausage, pepperoni, sautéed mushrooms green peppers, black olives and mozzarella cheese, and a rich White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake.

A full bar offers an extensive beverage menu with a great selection of wines along with more than 40 specialty drinks, including CPK’s original California Cosmo, and an extensive list of martinis and margaritas. Five new cocktails, including Caribbean Sunset Sangria, Peach Passion Punch, Mango Lava Colada, Absolutly Sweet Peach Tea and Malibu Iced Tea are also available.

Following CPK’s tradition of giving back to the communities in which it operates, the new CPK restaurant will donate 100 percent of all dine-in pizza sales during regular business hours on Tuesday, May 22 to Citymeals-On-Wheels, a New York City-based charity that brings weekend, holiday, emergency and weekday meals to homebound elderly New Yorkers who can no longer shop or cook for themselves. Last year, Citymeals funded the preparation and delivery of over 2.5 million meals to more than 17,500 homebound elderly New Yorkers.

On Tuesday, June 5, the new location will host a second pizza-sales donation day for the New York chapter of Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation, who helps seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities. They build playrooms and teen lounges in hospitals and provide PC Pals and Fun Centers so kids can play games, e-mail, chat with friends while working to get better during their hospital stay.
