Verona, 9 May 2007. A very satisfactory result for the 8th edition of SIAB, the International Bakery, Pastry, Confectionery, Fresh Pasta and Pizza Exhibition – organised directly for the first time by VeronaFiere in collaboration with Ipack-Ima Spa, the leading company in the field of shows for food packaging and processing. The national and international reference event in the sector is closed today, after five days of meetings, contacts and business, with more than 50 thousand visitors, of whom almost 20% international from 35 countries. There were more than 400 exhibitors, of which 20% international from 16 countries, in an overall area of 50 thousand square metres. Around thirty international delegations attended the event, particularly from the Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
Operators benefited from a truly complete panorama of products and production plant and equipment – as well as in-depth analysis of the “state of health” of the field in an economic period characterised by far-reaching changes that nevertheless offer major prospects for further development.
“Our objective, as for the other leading events in the agro-food field organised by VeronaFiere,” said Co-Director General Flavio Piva, “is to offer companies in the field new opportunities for internationalisation, by expanding commercial contacts on the most dynamic markets in the world. Direct organisation of the event meant we could assure companies, as for example is the case for Vinitaly, a series of promotional occasions that will continue all year round and not only during the five days of the exhibition itself. We are seriously investigating Eastern Europe and Asia, areas offering huge potential for the Bakery, Pastry, Confectionery, Fresh Pasta and Pizza field.”
