“A benefit for the newly formed Tyler Putnam Foundation is being held tomorrow, Tuesday, July 24, at Cam’s Pizzeria, 717 Titus Ave,” according to the Irondequoit Post.

“Cam’s will donate up to 20 percent of each check between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. July 24 to the foundation. Patrons will be asked to present a benefit coupon, or at least inform staff that they are ordering for the fundraiser. The benefit is good for customers who dine-in or pick up.

Tyler Putnam, then 16, died suddenly, from meningitis, July 7, 2011. He was a standout ice hockey player who would have entered his junior year at Irondequoit High School that fall.

His family, including father Lindsay Putnam and younger sister, Shannon, has now put together a charity in his memory. The charity raises money for people who cannot afford the expenses to play the sport of hockey and helps provide them with the opportunity to do so.”
