According to NorthJersey.com, “In a joint effort, the Demarest Middle School Library and Demarest Public Library are trying to show students that reading can be filling.”

“‘We are trying to instill the love for reading with the students,’ said Dana Gialanella, library media specialist at the Demarest Middle School. Gialanella, along with Laurie Meeske, the Demarest Public Library Youth Librarian, began the program, Pizza Pages earlier this month. Pizza Pages is a book group for students held at the Demarest Middle School Library one Friday a month, during the students’ lunch period. Two separate meetings are held each month – one for fifth- and sixth-graders and one for seventh- and eighth-graders. Students come to the meeting and have a pizza lunch.”
