“Ahead of its 25th anniversary next year, Pauline’s Pizza (260 Valencia, at Brosnan Alley) has opened Pauline’s Wines, a wine bar in the same building, with an entrance around the corner on Brosnan.Pauline’s Wines is open 6-11 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and offers about two dozen bottles, a dozen by the glass, flights, and 2-ounce pours of “whatever’s open,” says Pauline’s floor manager Brian Whitty. The wine bar features counter service and seating for 45, and has a separate kitchen for turning out a short list of mini pizzas and other small plates. The food, Whitty says, is designed to showcase the harvest from Pauline’s gardens in Berkeley and Star Canyon Ranch in Calaveras County, which produces fruit and vegetables along with the grapes for its own bottlings.”
